Berlin, MD - The Hofstra men's golf team is 15th in the 18-team field after the first round of the Battle At Rum Pointe, hosted by the Iona Gaels, on Friday. The Pride is led by 
Joseph Giamanco who shot an opening round 81 (+9) and is tied for 52nd place. 
Jaxon Hummel and 
Eugene Kang are both tied for 59th place after an opening round 82 (+10). 
Taishi Shigaki is tied for 67th in the 99-player field at 83 (+11), while 
Vincent Apostolico is tied for 72nd at 84 (+12).
LaSalle's Ben Battye is in first after a first round 69 (-3), while Pennsylania's Max Fonseca comes in at second with a 71 (-1). Pennsylvania is the team leader at 299 (+11), two strokes better than LaSalle.
Final round action of the Battle at Rum Pointe will begin Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m.
