Leandrou Places Second, Ryder Sixth At National Collegiate Open

Smyrna, DE - Michael Leandrou went 3-1 at 165 pounds and placed second at the National Collegiate Open at Smyrna High School. Leandrou had two major decisions and a decision victory leading into the finals, where he lost by major decision to Columbia's Andrew Garr. Dylan Ryder placed sixth at 133 pounds, posting a 2-2 record. Ryder won his first two matches by major decision before dropping a major decision in the semifinals. Ryder injury defaulted his first consolation match and then took a medical forfeit in the sixth-place match.

In addition to the two placewinners, Eric Shindel went 2-2 at 165 pounds, while Ryan Arbeit was 1-2 at 133 pounds and Greyson Harris dropped a pair of matches at 165 pounds. 

The open was the last competition of the regular season for the Pride. The team returns to action at the EIWA Championships on March 8-9.
