Lynchburg, VA - Liberty scored eight runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to break a scoreless tie and went on to an 8-4 victory over Hofstra Saturday. The Pride dropped to 1-4 on the season, while the Flames improved to 4-2.
Sean Lane and
Luke Masiuk each homered for Hofstra. Lane had a solo shot in the seventh and Masiuk added a two-run shot in the ninth.
Steven Kaenzig (0-2) took the loss for Hofstra after allowing four runs in five-plus innings.
Dylan Palmer and
Alex McCoy each had two hits for the Pride.
Garrett Horn (2-0) tossed six scoreless innings, allowing four hits with nine strikeouts to get the win.
The teams conclude the series Sunday at 1 p.m.
