Huge Showdown In Philadelphia Awaits Hofstra and Drexel On Thursday

Hempstead, NY - Two longtime rivals which are tied in the standings and a game out of first place will meet on Thursday in Philadelphia as the Hofstra men's basketball team heads to Drexel for a key Coastal Athletic Association contest. 

Tip-off from the Daskalakis Athletic Center is slated for 7 p.m. 

The game will air on FloHoops and WRHU will have an audio-only broadcast available on 88.7 FM as well. Links to both, as well as the live statistics, can be found on this page and on the men's basketball schedule page at GoHofstra.com. 

Hofstra has won four straight games and seven of its last eight contests to improve to 15-10 overall and 8-4 in CAA play. The Dragons are also 8-4 in the conference and a similar 15-10 overall. The two schools are joined at 8-4 by Delaware and Towson and sit just a game back of first in the standings. UNCW and Charleston are both 9-3 in league play. 

Hofstra routed North Carolina A&T on Saturday by the score of 81-49 as German Plotnikov had a career-high 20 points and seven rebounds, while Tyler Thomas added his first double-double of the season with 19 points and 10 rebounds. 

Drexel dropped an 80-70 decision at Charleston on Saturday. Amari Williams had 20 points and eight rebounds, while Luke House chipped in with 12 points and seven rebounds. 

Hofstra is 50-47 all-time against Drexel. The Pride has won four straight and 12 of the last 13 meetings against the Dragons. The series is Hofstra's second-most played opponent all-time, only bested by Delaware (102).
