German Plotnikov had a career-high 20 points to lead four players in double figures as the Hofstra men's basketball team dominated in all facets in an 81-49 victory over North Carolina A&T on Saturday afternoon at the Corbett Sports Center. The win was Hofstra's fourth straight.
Tyler Thomas added his first double-double of the season (second of his Pride career) with 19 points and 10 rebounds for Hofstra.
The Pride improved to 15-10 overall and 8-4 in CAA action. In addition to the four-game win streak, Hofstra has also won seven of its last eight games. North Carolina A&T dropped to 7-18 and 5-7 in conference play.
It was over early as Hofstra jumped all over North Carolina A&T, leading 16-2, nine minutes into the contest. The Pride held the Aggies to just 15 first half points and 15% shooting from the field (4-27) as Hofstra took a 19-point lead into the break.
Darlinstone Dubar had eight points during the game-opening run, while Plotnikov added a pair of three-pointers to the offensive onslaught.
Another three-pointer from Plotnikov at the 16:46 mark of the second stanza would give Hofstra its first 20-point lead of the day at 44-24. The lead would only grow from there as the Pride eventually pushed it to a 30-point advantage with 3:43 showing on the clock following a jumper from Plotnikov. Hofstra would tally the 32-point win as the defense would clamp down and hold the Aggies under 50 points.
Dubar and
Jacco Fritz each added 13 points for the Pride.
Camian Shell led the Aggies with 14 points, while Ahmad Hamilton chipped in with 11.
Hofstra will play the final of its three consecutive road games on Thursday when it takes on Drexel for the first time this season. The game will tip at 7 p.m. and will air on FloHoops.

- Today was the third-ever meeting between Hofstra and North Carolina A&T. The Pride leads the all-time series, 2-1.
