Boston, MA / Staten Island, NY - The Hofstra men's indoor track and field team has a strong start to their season on Saturday, December 7 with meets in Boston and Staten Island.
Abraham Longosiwa,
Brian Beck and
William Thu raced in Boston University's Season Opening Sharon Colyear-Danville meet, while the rest of the Pride competed in the Youree Spence-Garcia Invitational hosted by St. John's.
Longosiwa recorded a personal best time of 8:06.19 in the men's 3000m race to place 49th out of 113 competitors.
Brian Beck and
William Thu competed in the men's 5000m and both recorded personal best times of 15:10 and 15:21. In Staten Island, the Pride competed in three events: the 60m dash, the 300m dash, and shot put.
Nayan Chatterjee led Hofstra in the 60m dash, clocking in at 7.38 to finish 24th, while
Adam Gordon clocked in at 7.38 to finish 25th,
Steiger Devil clocked in at 7.50 at 29th, and
Greg Franzetti was 50th at 7.99.
Alec Padron led the Pride in the 300m dash to place 20th with a time of 37.45, while
Adam Gordon was one second behind at 38.39 to place 24th. In the shot put event,
James Watterson finished 12th following a shot mark of 9.45m, while
Philip Park came in 14th following a mark of 9.28m.
The Pride are back in action on Friday, December 13 for the Wagner College Shootout in Staten Island, New York.
