Hempstead, NY - It will be special night on Thursday when the Hofstra men's basketball team hosts William & Mary in the CAA opener for both teams. The game, which is being sponsored by the Long Island Marriott, will occur on the 25th anniversary of the official opening of the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex.
To commemorate the anniversary there will be a special commemorative stadium cup giveaway for the first 500 fans in attendance. In the first game in the building's history (then Hofstra Arena) on January 2, 2000, the men's basketball program defeated Boston University, 74-46, as
Speedy Claxton led Hofstra with 19 points, Norman Richardson added 17, and Danny Walker chipped in with 15.
The game will also feature Uniondale Night, where we will welcome over 500 Uniondale students as part of our January game student swap. These students will have the opportunity to enjoy a special pregame experience in our basketball practice facility, getting an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at where our Hofstra teams prepare for their games.
For ticket information visit HofstraTickets.com, call (516) HOF-TIXX, or visit the Hofstra Athletics Ticket Office in the lobby of the Mack Sports Complex during normal business hours.
The game will air on MSG2 and FloCollege, and WRHU will have an audio-only broadcast available on the HAWC. Links to all, as well as the live statistics, can be found on this page and on the men's basketball schedule page at GoHofstra.com.
