Izadora Stedile tallied 10 kills to lead a balanced attack as the Hofstra volleyball team made quick work of North Carolina A&T on Saturday afternoon, defeating the Aggies in three sets at the David S. Mack Physical Education Center. It was a showdown of two of the top teams in the CAA standings and the Pride showcased why they are in first place in the league ledger.
Constanza Perez Sain posted five service aces in the match to go along with her eight kills, three digs, and three blocks.
Yagmur Cinel had eight kills as well for the Pride.
Hofstra improved to 16-8 overall and 12-3 in the CAA with the win. North Carolina A&T dropped to 15-8 and 10-5 in the league. The Pride has won 12 of its last 14 matches. Set scores were 25-16, 26-24, and 25-21 in favor of the home team.
The Pride had a strong match offensively as Hofstra hit at a .297 clip, including a .311 attack percentage in the opening stanza. Hofstra was never seriously challenged in the match, aside from holding off a second set rally from the Aggies, as the Pride had nine blocks to the visitors five in the match and had eight service aces to North Carolina A&T's two.
Iyanna Garvin added seven kills, three blocks, and two service aces for the Pride, which also got five kills and five blocks from
Emilly Nunes.
Chiara Cucco had a match-high 15 digs.
Tyne Ross had 13 kills and eight digs for North Carolina A&T, while Leonor Polezzi had 18 assists and seven digs for the Aggies.
Hofstra and North Carolina A&T will conclude the weekend series on Sunday at 1 p.m. The Pride will celebrate "Senior Day" following the match.

- Hofstra is now 4-1 all-time against North Carolina A&T in a series that began in 2022.
- Stedile reached double figures in kills for the 18th time this season and fifth consecutive match.
- Cucco reached double figures in digs for the 33rd consecutive match.
