Senior Day Success; Pride Rolls Past Aggies

Hempstead, NY - On a day the program celebrated its senior class, it was freshman Constanza Perez Sain who starred on the court as she led the way with 16 kills as the Hofstra volleyball easily defeated North Carolina A&T in three sets on Sunday afternoon at the David S. Mack Physical Education Center. Perez Sain fell one kill shy of her season-high and added three service aces and three digs in the match.

Following the match the program honored its three seniors (Beatriz Alves, Yagmur Cinel, and Chiara Cucco). Alves had 25 assists and 12 digs for her third double-double of the season, Cinel was second on the team with 11 kills and a .455 hitting percentage, and Cucco picked up a match-high 18 digs and added a season-best seven assists.

The Pride, which has won four straight and 13 of its last 15 matches, improved to 17-8 overall and 13-3 in CAA play. North Carolina A&T dropped to 15-9 and 10-6 in the league. Set scores were 25-19, 25-16, and 25-17 in favor of Hofstra.

Hofstra dominated the entire way in this one as the contest only saw a total of three tie scores and two lead changes in the three sets. The Pride hit at a .321 clip in the match, including .414 in the second stanza and .410 in the final set.
