Hempstead, NY - Hofstra University Associate Director of Athletics for Sports Performance Kelly Shaver has completed his staff with the additions of Angelo Salomon and Evie Jerome as assistant strength and conditioning coaches.

Angelo and Evie will be instrumental in strengthening Hofstra's competitive edge, bringing fresh perspectives and techniques to the weight room, and contribute to the continued success of Hofstra Athletics."
Salomon's most recent experience came at Adelphi University, where he was an assistant strength & conditioning coach for the baseball, men's lacrosse, men's and women's track & field, men's and women's tennis, field hockey, men's and women's swimming, women's golf, and women's bowling programs since spring 2022. He also led coordinated strength and conditioning training for its national championship-winning men's lacrosse program, as well as conference championship-winning field hockey and and men's and women's tennis programs. Salomon was also the co-director for several Nike Sports Performance camps hosted by Adelphi.
Prior to Adelphi, Salomon was a physical therapy assistant at Long Island University from 2020 to 2021 where he was responsible for writing pre and post-op daily exercise programs for football, lacrosse, and baseball athletes, and he spent three years at Revolution Athletics as a speed director and strength coach, helping develop programs in strength and speed for collegiate football players in preparation for NFL Combine and Pro Days at Stony Brook University. At Revolution Athletics, he also trained professional athletes across top professional leagues such as the NFL, the WPF, and the PLL, and he helped with injury rehabilitation.
Salomon earned his bachelor's degree from West Virginia University, and he is currently pursuing his master's degree at Adelphi. He holds certification from the CSCS, USAW, and the ACE.
Jerome comes to the Pride after spending the 2023-24 academic year at Iona University. While at Iona, Jerome worked with the men's and women's lacrosse, rowing, cross country, and men's and women's swimming and diving programs. She assisted in speed and conditioning development programs and warm-ups before practices and games in addition to designing individualized recovery programs for student-athletes. Jerome also served as the lead for the strength and conditioning internship program and revamped the curriculum to create a structured education program.
Prior to Iona, Jerome, a certified strength and conditioning specialist, spent eight months at New York University working as an assistant strength and conditioning coach, primarily with the fencing program. She spent the Fall 2022 semester at St. John's University as a strength and conditioning graduate assistant, coaching women's cross country and men's tennis.
Jerome was also an intern at the University of North Carolina in 2022, assisting with numerous sports, and has also interned at University at Albany and SUNY Cortland.
Jerome graduated with honors from SUNY Cortland in 2021 with a degree in exercise science.
