Jamie Smith Joins Hofstra Athletics Staff

Hempstead, NY - Hofstra University Vice President and Director of Athletics Rick Cole Jr. announced the appoinment of Jamie Smith to the position of assistant director of athletics for corporate sales and strategic partnerships.

"Happy to have Jamie on our staff at Hofstra," said Cole Jr. "She has worked in a variety of roles at her previous institutions and is a welcome addition to our external relations team."  

Smith brings extensive experience into her role at Hofstra. Prior to joining the Pride, she was the director of compliance at Clemson University for one year, serving as the overseer of multiple NCAA bylaws within the department, as well as administering personnel approvals, coordinating department-wide complimentary ticketing processes, and regulating time management programs for all teams.

Smith also served in a variety of roles within the department of athletics at the University of Rhode Island beginning in 2021. She started as an athletic development intern before joining the volleyball program as a graduate assistant, and eventually becoming the compliance coordinator before becoming the assistant director of NCAA compliance and student-athlete development.

Smith graduated from Iona University in May 2021 with her bachelor's degree in business administration. While at Iona, Smith was a two-time All-MAAC selection on the Iona volleyball team and the Iona SAAC Vice President and President. She earned her master's degree in business administration from Rhode Island, where she was the department representative at the 2022 NCAA Career in Sports Forum and the 2023 NCAA Division I New Administrators Compliance Academy.
