Game Recap: Men's Basketball | | Stephen Gorchov

#7/#8 Houston Too Much For Pride

Houston, TX - Cruz Davis had a game-high 18 points, including a trio of three-pointers, but #7/#8 Houston defeated the Hofstra men's basketball team, 80-44, on Friday evening at the Fertitta Center.

The loss moved Hofstra's record to 4-2 this season, while Houston improved to 3-1.

A pair of early three-pointers, from Davis and Jaquan Sanders, brought Hofstra to within 7-6 at the 15:50 mark. The Cougars immediately answered, though, and used a 15-2 run over the next five minutes to open up a 22-8 lead. Houston would never look back in posting the victory.

Sanders finished with eight points in the game, while KiJan Robinson added seven for the Pride. Silas Sunday pulled down a team-best five rebounds for Hofstra.

Joseph Tugler led Houston with 17 points, while Emanuel Sharp added 16 and Terrance Arceneaux chipped in with 12.

Hofstra is back in action next Friday when it travels to The Bahamas for the Baha Mar Hoops: Nassau Championship. The Pride will face Rice on Friday before taking on Tarleton State and Arkansas State. All three games will air on FloCollege.
