Pride Second Half Rally Falls Short At Florida State

Tallahassee, FL - Jean Aranguren had 14 points and seven rebounds for the Pride, while KiJan Robinson and Jaquan Sanders each added 13 points but the Hofstra men's basketball team dropped a 79-61 decision at Florida State on Tuesday evening at the Donald L. Tucker Center.

The Pride cut a nine-point halftime deficit to two in the second half as they scored 14 of the first 21 points after the break, but Hofstra was unable to get over the hump and the Seminoles prevailed down the stretch.

Robinson shined in his return to his home state of Florida with the career-high-tying 13 points, which included a trio of three-pointers.

The loss was the Pride's first of the season, putting Hofstra's record at 4-1 in 2024-25. Florida State improved to an identical 4-1 mark.

Michael Graham was solid for the Pride with eight points and eight rebounds. Cruz Davis chipped in with nine points for Hofstra.

Jamir Watkins had 17 points and six rebounds for Florida State, which also got 13 points and six rebounds from Malique Ewin and 10 points from Taylor Bol Bowen.

Hofstra returns to action on Friday when it heads to Texas to face #7/#8 Houston. The game will tip at 7 p.m. (local).
