Hempstead, NY - Hofstra University junior midfielder Laurie Goddard has been named the NCAA National Player of the Week following his performance in a pair of Coastal Athletic Association Championship games this past week.

Goddard scored three goals in wins over Charleston and Elon to help Hofstra advance to the CAA Championship Game for the fifth consecutive season. The Pride hosts UNCW in the finals Saturday night at 7 p.m. at Captains Field. 

In the opening round against the Cougars, a 3-2 overtime victory, Goddard tallied the Pride's first goal of the evening. He followed that up with a brace in a 2-0 victory over the Phoenix in the CAA Semifinals. It was the first two-goal game of his Hofstra career and third overall, counting two seasons at Merrimack. 

Goddard, a Second Team All-CAA selection, now leads the Pride in scoring with nine goals and five assists for 23 points.
