#21/#17 Hofstra Falls At #18/#15 Penn

Philadelphia, PA - Laurie Goddard scored his fifth goal of the season to tie the score at one, but Penn's Stas Korzeniowski's penalty kick goal broke the tie as No. 18/15 Penn went on to post a 3-1 victory over No. 21/18 Hofstra Tuesday night at Rhodes Field. 

Hofstra dropped its second consecutive game and fell to 8-3-1 on the season. The Quakers are 8-1-1 following their third consecutive win. 

Penn took a 1-0 lead at the 8:11 mark as Leo Burney headed in a free kick from Patrick Coyelli. Goddard would tie the score at 57:01 with Danielle Mastroianni credited with the assist. 

The tie was short-lived as Korzeniowski's penalty kick goal just over four minutes later put Penn ahead to stay. Jack-Ryan Jeremiah closed the scoring at 81:00 with Korzeniowski and Ben Do getting assists. 

Hofstra keeper Filippo Dadone made two saves, while Phillip Falcon III had three saves for Penn. 

The Pride returns to action Saturday when it hosts Campbell in a Coastal Athletic Association game. Kickoff at Captains Field is set for 2 p.m.

Notes:
-Hofstra is 1-1 all-time against Penn.
-Penn held a 16-9 shot advantage.
-The penalty kick goal was the first by a Hofstra opponent this season.
