Battle Of Long Island Resumes As Hofstra Hosts Stony Brook Sunday

Hempstead, NY - The Battle of Long Island resumes this Sunday when Stony Brook visits Captains Field for a Coastal Athletic Association matchup against the Pride. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.

The game will be streamed live on FloFC with live statistics and an audio-only broadcast also available. Links for all can be found above or on the women's soccer schedule page at GoHofstra.com. 

Both teams enter the game off draws. Hofstra (4-2-5, 2-1-1 CAA) played to a 1-1 draw against Drexel, while Stony Brook (7-3-2, 2-1-1 CAA) tied Monmouth, 2-2. The Pride erased a 1-0 halftime deficit as Dagny Run Petursdottir scored less than three minutes into the second half. The Seawolves saw a 2-0 lead evaporate in the final 11 minutes as Monmouth rallied to earn the draw. 

Hofstra is 15-4 all-time against Stony Brook. The Pride won last season, 2-1, as Thorhildur Thorhallsdottir and Gabriella Marte had goals for Hofstra.
