Hempstead, NY - Led by All-Coastal Athletic Association First Team selection Millie Davies, the Hofstra University women's soccer team saw six student-athletes earn All-CAA recognition as the league announced postseason honors on the eve of the 2024 CAA Championship. Joining Davies are All-CAA Third Team selections Mathilde Braithwaite, Ellie Gough, Dagny Run Petursdottir, Gabriella Marte, and Louise Hayden.
Davies, a junior midfielder, earns her first All-CAA accolade after tying for the team lead in scoring with five goals and five assists for 15 points, all career-highs. The Manchester, England native, who earned All-CAA Championship Team honors last season, has scored four goals and added three assists in CAA games. She has one of two multi-goal games for the Pride this season after scoring both goals in a 2-0 win at William & Mary.
Braithwaite, a senior forward from Esbjerg, Denmark, also picks up her first All-CAA nod following a breakout campaign that saw her score a career-best five goals and adding one assist for 11 points (also a career-best). The five goals are tied for the team lead and her two game-winning goals are also tied for tops on the team. Four of Braithwaite's five goals have come in CAA action.
Gough, a graduate forward in her first season at Hofstra, earned a spot on the third team after tying for the team lead with 15 points on five goals and five assists. The Bedford, England native tallied one game-winning goal and has one of two multi-goal games for the Pride after scoring twice versus Towson. In CAA play, Gough has three goals and three assists.
Petursdottir, a junior midfielder, is making her third appearance on an All-CAA team after earning second team honors in each of the last two seasons. The Kópavogur, Iceland native has three goals and two assists this season, matching her career-highs from the 2022 campaign. One of Petursdottir's goals and both assists have come in conference action.
Marte, a senior defender from Middletown, Delaware, earns her first All-CAA honor after a tremendous season on the Pride's back line. She has helped anchor a unit that allows just over one goal per game, while also chipping in with a goal and two assists, all in CAA play. Marte leads the Pride in minutes played with 1523 out of a possible 1530.
Hayden, a graduate defender from Bjäerred, Sweden, is making her second consecutive appearance on the All-CAA squad after earning second team honors last season. She was also a CAA All-Rookie selection in 2020. Another anchor of the Pride defense, Hayden logged 1477 minutes this season and recorded an assist against Towson.
Hofstra, which is seeded fourth, will face No. 5 Delaware in the opening round of the CAA Championship Thursday at 4 p.m. at Monmouth.
