Hofstra Tripped Up At Charleston

Hempstead, NY - Emma Wennar scored the only goal of the game for Charleston to give the Cougars a 1-0 CAA victory over Hofstra Sunday afternoon at Patriots Point. Lilly Bailey made four saves for the Pride in just over 75 minutes of action. 

Hofstra slipped to 5-4-7 overall and 2-3-3 in league play after a second consecutive loss. The Cougars upped their record to 8-6-2 overall and 4-3-1 in the CAA with the win. 

Wennar took a pass from Caroline Fowlkes on the goal line and tapped a shot in for her fifth goal of the season at 63:41. The Pride had one shot on goal following the score, but Charleston keeper Ainsley Chunn stopped the Millie Davies attempt.

Hofstra will wrap up the regular season next Sunday at Stony Brook. The Pride are still in contention for the third and final playoff spot in the CAA North Division, but will need a win over the Seawolves. 

Notes:
-Hofstra moved to 10-2-1 all-time against Charleston.
-Charleston held a 13-4 advantage in shots.
