No. 18/24 Hofstra Tames Bulls In 3-1 Victory

Tampa, FL - No. 18/24 Hofstra received goals from three different players, including the first career goals from Jack O'Malley and Sean O'Donnell, and picked up a 3-1 victory over South Florida at Corbett Stadium Tuesday night. The win came in Hofstra's final non-conference game of the regular season.

Hofstra moved to 10-3-2 on the season, while the Bulls dipped to 5-4-4 on the year. The Pride's 10 wins give them their 21st 10-win season in program history and the 18th under 36th-year Head Coach Richard Nuttall.

Teddy Baker opened the scoring just 5:21 into the contest as he converted a pass from Owen Barnett for a 1-0 lead. O'Malley, a fifth year defender, put his name on the scoresheet for the first time in his career at 22:14 with an unassisted goal that made it 2-0.

The score would remain that way until 13 minutes into the second half when South Florida's Michael Owens scored his first of the season to cut the Bulls deficit in half. But the Hofstra defense and goalkeeper Filippo Dadone kept the Bulls at bay the rest of the way and O'Donnell added an insurance goal with just over a minute to play off a pass from Jacob Woznicki

Dadone finished with four saves, three in the final 45 minutes. South Florida goalkeeper Felix Schaefer made three saves.

Hofstra will remain on the road for its next game, Saturday at Charleston. Kickoff is scheduled for 12 p.m.
