Fairfield, CT – The Hofstra field hockey team traveled to face Fairfield on Sunday, October 20, and the Stags came away with a 1-0 win over the Pride.
Hofstra sees its record drop to 3-12 with the loss, and Fairfield improves to 9-5.
Fairfield's goal came in the third period off a rebound following one of
Pieke Roos' eight saves. Konni Hofmann had her shot saved in close range to Roos' goal, but the ball fell to Pilar Mengotti and she scored the game's only goal one minute into the quarter.
Hofstra returns to Coastal Athletic Association competition on Friday, October 5, with a 3 p.m. fixture versus Towson.
NOTES:
-Hofstra held a 6-1 advantage over Fairfield in penalty clocks, while the Stags finished with a 15-7 edge in shots. Seven members of the Pride had a shot against Fairfield.

Lauren Lucas recorded a defensive save, the first of her career at Hofstra.
-Hofstra is now 30-10 all-time against Fairfield.
