Longosiwa Takes First At Metropolitan Championships

Newark, NJ - Abraham Longosiwa was Hofstra's first ever Metropolitan individual champion on Saturday after finishing the 8K race with a time of 23:29.99 from Branch Brook Park in Newark, New Jersey, for the Metropolitan Championships hosted by NJIT.

Zach Van Houten took second place out of the 69-runner field with a time of 23:42, while William Thu came in 8th with a time of 26:09.83. John Ortiz finished in 26:59.01 to take 31st place. 

Manhattan captured its 27th team championship at the METS. As a team, Hofstra was not ranked with only four runners competing. 

The Pride will be back in action for the CAA Cross Country Championship on November 1 in Elon, North Carolina.
