West Point, NY - Hofstra concluded play at the Army West Point Invitational Sunday after competing in five flights of singles matches and two flights of doubles.

In the singles flight E,
Mary Madigan led the way for the Pride, where she reached the quarterfinal round, competing against Binghamton's Kimberly Fenton. To get to the quarterfinals, Madigan bested competitors from Stony Brook and Rider, but fell to Fenton (3-6, 0-6). In flight A,
Dianela Rodriguez advanced to the round of 16, where she competed against Army's Jenna Sabile. Sabile defeated Rodriguez in two sets (4-6, 1-6).
In flight C,
Deniz Soyer reached the round of 16 to face off against NJIT's Shalom Salvi. Soyer fell to Salvi 2-6, 6-2, 7-10. Lea Forste-Dinel competed against Quinnipiac's Jenna Sloan in flight A. Sloan defeated Forste-Dinel 3-6, 6-1. In flight B,
Sabira Mohamed faced off against NJIT's Shivani Ingle and was bested by Ingle 5-7, 2-6.
Flight D included three competitors for the Pride.
Simran Desai competed against Rider's Laila Fishman. Fishman defeated Desai in two sets (6-1, 6-4). Abagail Higgins faced off against Quinnipiac's Dominique Yeo and fell to Yeo 6-1, 6-0.
Kaitlyn Ferguson competed opposite Binghamton's Abby Ackroyd. Ferguson was defeated by Ackroyd in two sets (6-1, 5-7).
In doubles,
Lea Forste-Dinell and
Sabira Mohamed advanced to the round of 32 in flight A, where they competed against Cornell's Emma Baker and Hoi Ki Jenny Wong. Baker and Wong defeated the Pride 6-2.
Deniz Soyer and
Dianela Rodriguez faced off against UConn's Isabel Petri Bere and Aleksandra Karamyshev. Bere and Karamyshev bested Soyer and Rodriguez 7-5 in the round of 64.
In flight B,
Simran Desai and
Kaitlyn Ferguson competed opposite Rider's Samantha Killian and Sofia Gutierrez in the round of 32. Killian and Gutierez defeated Desai and Ferguson 6-4. Ava Veneziano and
Mary Madigan fell to UConn's Maria Constantinou and Caroline Hinshaw 1-6 in the round of 32.
The Pride will compete in the ITA Northeast Regionals hosted by Columbia starting October 6.
