Red-Hot Pride Extends Win Streak To Six

Hempstead, NY - Clara Bal tied her career-high with 16 kills and added a career-best seven blocks to lead the Hofstra volleyball team to a four-set win over Elon on Sunday afternoon at the David S. Mack Physical Education Center. The win was Hofstra's sixth consecutive overall, seventh consecutive home win, and 11th consecutive home CAA win.

Beatriz Alves added 44 assists and 10 digs, while Izadora Stedile tallied 12 kills and 13 digs.

Hofstra moved its record to a spectacular 12-1 this season and 2-0 in CAA play. Elon fell to 3-8 and 0-2 in league action. Set scores were 25-17, 18-25, 25-21, and 25-11.

The Pride hit at a .414 clip in the opening set to get off to the strong start in the match. Elon stormed back and withstood a late run by the Pride in the second set to even the match. It would be all Hofstra from that point, though, as the Pride was clicking on all cylinders offensively in the final two sets to capture the four-set victory.

Chiara Cucco led Hofstra with 15 digs in the match, while Emilly Nunes added 10 kills and Yagmur Cinel chipped in with nine.

Cameron Lanier led Elon with 12 kills, while Jessica Parker had 28 assists and nine digs.

Hofstra dominated the match statistically with a 56-36 kill advantage, a 53-38 dig advantage, and a 9-4 advantage in blocks.

Hofstra will head on the road next weekend for a pair of matches at Northeastern. The Pride and the Huskies will battle on Saturday and Sunday 2 p.m. Both matches will air on FloVolleyball.

NOTES
- Hofstra is 12-5 all-time against Elon. The Pride swept the season series from the Phoenix for the first time since 2018.
- Hofstra has now had two win streaks of at least six matches this season. It is the first time the Pride has done that since 2018.
- The double-double by Stedile was her team-leading fifth of the season and it was the fourth of the season for Alves.
