Kensington, CT - Hofstra shot a team score of 312 (+28) and is tied for 15th after the first round of the Ryan T. Lee Memorial Collegiate at Shuttle Meadow Country Club Saturday. The tournament brings together top collegiate teams from the Northeast and was founded in 2010.
Taishi Shigaki was Hofstra's top scorer in the first round, shooting a 76 (+5) to sit in a tie for 48th place in the 90-player field.
Jaxon Hummel is tied for 63rd after a first round 78 (+7).
Gavin Clarke and
Eugene Kang both shot a 79 (+8) and are tied for 71st.
Tyler Barbaro is tied for 87th after a first round 84 (+13).
DJ Francey of Columbia University is the first round leader after shooting a 67 (-4). He is tied for first with Anthony Naples of Fairfield.
Fairfield holds the team lead at 276 (-8). Columbia is just one stroke behind in second at 277 (-7).
