Wiktoria Fronc earned a spot on the Coastal Athletic Association's Preseason Women's Soccer Team and classmate
Dagny Run Petursdottir claimed a spot on the Preseason All-CAA Honorable Mention team it was announced today. The team was compiled in a vote of the league's head coaches.
In addition to the preseason all-conference team, the CAA also released the preseason poll and the Pride was picked to finish third in the 13-team league in a vote of the CAA head coaches. Hofstra, the two-time defending CAA champion, received three first-place votes and 117 points overall to finish seven points behind preseason favorite Monmouth and predicted runner-up Northeastern. In all, six teams received at least one first-place vote in the poll.
Fronc, who earned Third-Team All-CAA and All-CAA Rookie Team accolades last season, was voted onto the preseason team after leading the Pride and ranking second in the league with seven assists. The London, England native was also named one of the top 100 freshmen in the nation last season by Top Drawer Soccer.
Petursdottir was a Second-Team All-CAA and All-CAA Rookie selection in 2022. The midfielder from Kópavogur, Iceland scored three goals and added two assists for eight points on the season to rank fifth on the team in scoring.
Hofstra begins the 2023 season Thurday, Sept. 17 at UAlbany.Â
