Hofstra and Loyola Maryland Play Scoreless Draw

Hempstead, NY - Lilly Bailey had one save for Hofstra, while her Loyola Maryland counterpart Hannah Goetzer made three saves as the Pride and Greyhounds played to a scoreless draw Saturday afternoon at Captains Field. The draw was Hofstra's second in a row and moved the Pride to 3-1-2 on the season. Loyola Maryland is also 3-1-2 on the year. 

With the defense ruling the day, Hofstra turned in a strong opening 45 minutes as the Pride held the Greyhounds to no shots. The Pride managed three shots in the half with two of them saved by Goetzer. 

The second half, which saw Loyola Maryland playing with the wind at their back, resulted in six shot attempts for the Greyhounds. Bailey stopped the only one on target. The Pride managed three second half shots with one on goal. 

Hofstra returns to action Thursday at Brown with a 7 p.m. kickoff. 

Notes:
-Hofstra is 0-1-2 all-time against Loyola Maryland and has tied the last two games.
-The Pride moved to 2-0-2 at home in 2025.
-Hofstra's last 0-0 draw was against Columbia on Sept. 23, 2024.
-The shutout was Bailey's first solo shutout as a member of the Pride. 
-The teams each took six shots, while Hofstra held a 3-0 edge in corner kicks.
