Pearse Named CAA Offensive Player Of The Week

Hempstead, NY - Hofstra University junior Olivia Pearse has been named the Coastal Athletic Association Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week following her game-winning goal in the Pride's 1-0 victory at Rutgers Sunday night.

Pearse snapped a scoreless tie in the 88th minute with a goal from outside the box as she took a pass from Wiktoria Fronc and sent a shot into the top left corner of the goal. It was Pearse's first goal of the season. The goal gave the Pride its first win over Rutgers, which was receiving votes in the United Soccer Coaches Poll, in five meetings.

Hofstra (1-1) will be back in action Friday afternoon (2 p.m.) at Columbia.
