Hofstra Opens 2023 Season At UAlbany

Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra University women's soccer team opens the 2023 season Thursday night at the University of Albany. Start time is set for 7 p.m. from Bob Ford Field and Tom and Mary Casey Stadium.

Thursday's game will be live streamed on ESPN+ with live statistics also available. Links for both can be found on the women's soccer schedule page on GoHofstra.com.

The Pride returns 21 players from last season's CAA Championship squad including seven starters. Hofstra was 10-8-4 in 2022, winning the CAA as the No. 8 seed. The Great Danes were 7-8-5 a season ago.

Hofstra and UAlbany have met on six previous occasions with the Pride holding a 6-0 series lead. Last season, Hofstra posted a 3-0 win behind a pair of goals from Thorhildur Thorhallsdottir and one save from Skylar Kuzmich.

Following Thursday's contest, Hofstra will travel to Rutgers for a Sunday night (7 p.m.) game on August 20.
