Chelsea Manto Picks Up All-ECAC Honors

| By:
Danbury, CT – For the second time in her collegiate career, Chelsea Manto was recognized by the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) as a member of the All-ECAC Team, the organization announced Wednesday afternoon.

The ECAC (Eastern College Athletic Conference) is an eighty-two-year-old organization with well over 200 member schools across all three NCAA Divisions - I, II and III. The ECAC exists to enhance the experience of student-athletes participating in intercollegiate athletics and provides great value for universities and colleges by sponsoring championships, leagues, bowl games, tournaments and other competitions throughout the Northeast.

A National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Region Second Team and All-Colonial Athletic Association First Team selection in 2023, Manto finished her senior season with a .301 batting average on 53 hits – good for third on the team – while crossing home plate for 35 runs and tallying nine RBIs. Manto was a dynamo on the basepaths with 27 stolen bases, tops in the CAA and the second-most in a season in Hofstra softball history, and she posted a .980 fielding percentage as the starter in center field.

With an overall record of 29-27 in 2023, Hofstra advanced to the NCAA Regionals for the 18th time in program history with its 13th CAA title and 21st all-time conference championship.
