Hempstead, NY – Following a successful road trip over the past weekend, the Hofstra softball team will take on a pair of difficult opponents while staying in the Northeast region. The Pride will travel to Storrs, Connecticut to take on Connecticut on Wednesday, April 19, followed by a crucial home Colonial Athletic Association series against Elon on Saturday, April 22, and Sunday, April 23.
 
First pitch against Connecticut it scheduled for 4 p.m., while the Pride will open its series against Elon with a doubleheader on Saturday at 12 p.m. and 2:30 p.m., followed by the final game of the series at 12 p.m. on Sunday. Hofstra's contest against Connecticut will be streamed on UConn+, while Hofstra's series against Elon will be streamed on FloSoftball, and live statistics will be available for all four games this week. Hofstra won all four of its games over the week – a 4-1 win over Villanova and a series sweep of Hampton – to move to 18-22 overall and 10-5 in the CAA. Alanna Morse was named Co-Rookie of the Week for going 4-13 and driving in three RBIs and leading the team with four runs scored, while Meghan Giordano went 5-10 at the plate with five RBIs in the Hampton series, and Chelsea Manto led the way with seven hits in 13 at bats and two RBIs for the Pride. In four appearances, Annabella Pisapia went 3-0 with a 0.55 ERA while striking out four and allowing only one run.
 
Connecticut sports a 28-11 record going into Wednesday's contest following a series sweep of Big EAST opponent Butler over the past weekend. Meanwhile, Elon currently stands at 17-21 overall and 10-4 in the CAA after winning two out of three games against UNCW to enter this coming weekend second in the conference standings.
 
Hofstra's all-time record against Connecticut sits at 26-19 in favor of the Pride, and Hofstra is 12-6 all-time against Elon. The Pride's last meeting with Connecticut came on March 10, 2020 – a 7-0 victory for the Huskies – and Hofstra won two out of three games against the Phoenix in the 2022 series.
