Hofstra Seventh After Two Rounds Of Shark Invitational

Glen Head, NY - Jaxon Hummel is tied for 22nd place, and Taishi Shigaki and Dino Capazario are tied for 28th place after two rounds of the LIU Shark Invitational at Brookville Country Club. The Pride is in seventh-place as a team entering Tuesday's final round.

Hummel opened with a one-under par 69, good for a second place tie, before slipping to a 77 (+7) in round two for a 36-hole total of 146 (+6). Shigaki had a 77 (+7) in round one and a 70 (E) in round two for a 147 (+7). Just six golfers in the 54-player field shot below par in the second round. Capazario recorded his two-round 147 (+7) with scores of 71 (+1) and 76 (+6).

Vincent Apostolico and Joseph Giamanco are tied for 41st place at 153 (+13). Apostolico had scores of 79 (+9) and 74 (+4), while Giamanco tallied a 76 (+6) and a 77 (+7). Mayaank Gally is tied for 47th-place at 156 (+16) following rounds of 77 (+7) and 79 (+9).

Hofstra shot rounds of 293 (+13) and 304 (+24) for a 597 (+37) total. The Pride is 12 strokes ahead of eighth-place Manhattan and 15 ahead of ninth-place Merrimack. Siena and Fairleigh Dickinson lead the field with a two-round 561 (+1). LIU is third at 571 (+11).

Pyae Phyo Thu of Fairleigh Dickinson is the day one leader at 137 (-3). Siena's Austin Giroux is currently second at 138 (-2).

The Pride begins teeing off in round three Tuesday at 8:45 a.m.
