Hofstra Tied for Eighth After One Round Of The CAA Championship

Southport, NC - Hofstra is tied for eighth after the first round of the Colonial Athletic Association Championship at The Reserve Club at St. James. The Pride shot a team score of 332 (+44) and is tied with North Carolina A&T, one stroke behind William & Mary.

Savannah Weyrauch led the Pride on day one with an 80 (+8) and is tied for 26th-place in the 45-player field. Cynthia Zhao is tied for 29th at 82 (+10), while Claire Galante is tied for 33rd at 83 (+11). Dominique Jimenez is tied for 40th at 87 (+15), while Maya Torpey is 45th after a first round 90 (+18).

College of Charleston leads after round one at 295 (+7). The 48th-ranked Cougars lead by one stroke over UNCW and by five over Delaware.

UNCW's Phu Khine is the individual leader at 69 (-3). Emma Schimpf is second after a first round 71 (-1).

Round two of the CAA Championship tees of Saturday at 8:30 a.m.
