Hofstra Finishes 14th At Wildcat Spring Invitational

Glenside, PA - Hofstra shot a final round 302 (+18) and climbed one spot to finish 14th, while Dino Capazario moved up 13 spots with a final round 73 (+2) as play concluded at the Villanova Wildcat Spring Invitational Tuesday at LuLu Country Club.

Capazario finished tied for 39th place in the 95-player field at 149 (+7). Jaxon Hummel was Hofstra's next finisher, tying for 59th at 152 (+10) following a final round 78 (+7). Vincent Apostolico also had a big jump up the leaderboard Tuesday, climbing 14 spots following a final round 73 (+2) to tie for 73rd at 155 (+13). Individual entrant Taishi Shigaki tied for 83rd place at 158 (+16) with a final round 78 (+7). Joseph Giamanco shot a 78 (+7) Tuesday and tied for 88th at 161 (+19). Mayaank Gally finished 94th with a 166 (+24) after a final round 85 (+14).

Villanova's Peter Weaver shot a final round 65 (-6) and moved up from sixth place to claim the individual championship at 133 (-9). La Salle's Anthony Garcia, the first round leader, and Lehigh's David Hurly tied for second at 139 (-3).

Villanova also won the team title at 568 (E), two strokes better than runner-up La Salle.

Hofstra is back in action Saturday at the Columbia Roar-EE Invitational.
