Hofstra Opens 2023 Home Schedule with Boston College

Hempstead, NY – The Hofstra softball team opens its 2023 home schedule with a three-game series against Boston College from Bill Edwards Stadium on March 10-11.
 
Friday will feature a doubleheader against the Eagles at noon and 2:30 p.m., and Saturday's lone game will be played at noon. All three games will be streamed live on FloSoftball, and live statistics will be available for all three games. With its record at 5-10 overall, the Pride is in the midst of a three-game winning streak following its successful time at THE Spring Games in Tampa, Florida. The Pride picked up four wins over Bethune-Cookman (2-1), Coastal Carolina (7-2), Holy Cross (3-2), and Yale (6-5) in the three-day, five-game softball event. Across their five games, Meghan Giordano tallied four hits and four RBIs, with the four RBIs coming in a 3-3, two home run performance against Yale. Angelina Ioppolo totaled three hits, two walks, and three RBIs over five games for the Pride down in Florida, and Chelsea Manto also recorded three hits and three stolen bases at THE Spring Games.
 
Boston College is 12-7 on the year following a two wins over UC San Diego this past Saturday and Sunday, and a win over UC Riverside on Monday. The top batter for the Eagles is Abigail Knight, with a .322 batting average, 19 hits, and 19 RBIs.
 
Hofstra's 12-7 all-time in 19 meetings with Boston College. The teams last met on February 26, 2017 in the FGCU Invitational in Fort Myers, Florida, and the Pride came away with a 3-1 win over the Eagles.
