North Carolina A&T Rallies Past Hofstra

Greensboro, NC - Dylan Palmer, Santino Rosso, and Steve Harrington each had two hits for Hofstra in a 10-4 loss at North Carolina A&T Saturday evening. The Aggies erased a 4-3 deficit with a five-run fourth inning to pick up their second consecutive win over the Pride in the Colonial Athletic Association series.

Hofstra slipped to 7-15 on the season and 2-6 in CAA play. North Carolina A&T is 12-11 overall and 5-3 in league action.

The Aggies got on the board in the first as Shemar Dalton led off with a single and went to second on a wild pitch. An infield out moved him over to third and he scored on a sacrifice fly from Camden Jackson.

The Pride answered right back in their next at-bat, loading the bases on a single, an error, and a walk before Palmer poked a double down the third base line to drive in a pair and give Hofstra the lead. After loading the bases again, Brian Morrell drew a walk to extend the lead to 3-1.

North Carolina A&T loaded the bases in the bottom of the second and scored one run on a fielder's choice grounder and another on a double from Cort Maynard to tie the score at three. Hofstra would go ahead in the fourth on an RBI double from Will Kennedy, but the Aggies put up five runs in the bottom of the inning with three coming in on a home run from Cameran Brantley. North Carolina A&T tacked on their final two runs in the fifth on a double from Maynard.
