Hofstra Travels to Florida for THE Spring Games

Hempstead, NY – The Hofstra softball team will be heading down South once again for a multi-team competition, this time traveling to Tampa, Florida for THE Spring Games at the Madeira Beach Rec Center on March 3-5.
 
THE Spring Games Schedule:
Friday, Mar. 3 @ 10 a.m.: Hofstra vs. Bethune Cookman (Field 3)
Friday, Mar. 3 @ 3 p.m.: Hofstra vs. Central Michigan (Field 2)
Saturday, Mar. 4 @ 3 p.m.: Hofstra vs. Coastal Carolina (Field 3)
Saturday, Mar. 4 @ 5:30 p.m.: Hofstra vs. Holy Cross (Field 3)
Sunday, Mar. 5 @ 9 a.m.: Hofstra vs. Yale (Field 1)
 
All games at THE Spring Games will be streamed live on FloSoftball. In addition, tickets are available for purchase for the weekend. The links to tickets and the live video stream can be found on this page and the softball schedule page on GoHofstra.com.
 
The Pride is eager to return to play after picking up its first win in the final game of the Georgia Classic on February 26, a 6-5 win in eight innings against California Baptist, to put the team's record at 1-9. Hofstra is also coming off tough games against Lipscomb and #17 Georgia from the Georgia Classic in Athens, Georgia. Meghan Giordano led the Pride with five hits and two RBI, including a solo home run against Lispscomb on February 25, while Angelina Ioppolo recorded four hits and two RBI, and Kasey Collins drove in one run on four hits and she reached base by walk three times. In the circle, Haley Venturini combined for nine strikeouts over 9.3 innings pitched, and Julia Apsel picked up the win against California Baptist.
 
Bethune Cookman enters the weekend at 1-13 following an 0-5 stretch at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic, while Central Michigan is 3-6 after going 1-4 at the Western Kentucky Tournament, Coastal Carolina is 13-2 following a 4-1 record at the Battle at the Beach, Holy Cross is 3-4 after a 1-2 series record against George Mason, and Yale is 2-3 after opening the season at the Hub City Challenge.
 
Hofstra is 2-1 all-time against Bethune Cookman, 3-3 against Central Michigan, 3-1 versus Coastal Carolina, 1-0 against Holy Cross, and 9-2 versus Yale.
