Jordyn McDonnell scored a top-five finish in the 3000m event from Virginia Beach Sports Complex.
Running in the first-ever indoor track & field championship in CAA history, McDonnell crossed the finish line of the women's 3000m in a time of 9:42.45 to finish fifth out of a field of 24 of the best 3000m runners in the CAA. McDonnell finished 0.59 seconds in front of William & Mary's Sofia Istnick in sixth, and 2.04 seconds behind Grace Weigele in fourth.
McDonnell's fifth-place finish scored Hofstra four points in the team competition, placing them 12th. Elon scored 129.833 points to capture the first-ever CAA Indoor Track & Field Championship over second-place Hampton with 121.333 points.
