Hofstra Women Prepped for CAA Indoor Track & Field Championship

Hempstead, NY – The Hofstra women's indoor track team will be heading to the Virginia Beach Sports Complex in Virginia Beach, Virginia for the first-ever Colonial Athletic Association Indoor Track & Field Championships on February 22-23.
 
Coverage from the Virginia Beach Sports Complex will begin on Wednesday at 9 a.m. with the heptathlon events, while the field events will begin with the pole vault at 11:30 a.m., and the running events will open at 1:40 p.m. with the Mile Trial. Thursday will begin at 9 a.m. with the remaining Heptathlon events, and the field events will start with the high jump at 10 a.m. and the Mile Final at noon will open the running events.

Head Coach Vincent Giambanco announced that Jordyn McDonnell and Sophia Masciarelli will be competing for the Pride in the conference championship meet, with Masciarelli running in Wednesday's 5000m at 5:50 p.m. and McDonnell competing in the 3000m on Thursday at 1:50 p.m.
 
Masciarelli set a personal-best time of 17:31.55 in the 5000m at the FastTrack Season Opener on December 2, and McDonnell recorded her best time in the 3000m of 9:41.13 at the BU John Thomas Terrier Classic on January 27.
