Ann Arbor, MI - Despite goals from seven different players, the Hofstra men's lacrosse team fell to Michigan, 11-10, Saturday at the U-M Lacrosse Stadium. Redshirt Sophomore

Hofstra falls to 0-3 with the loss, while Michigan improves to 1-1.
Senior
Mac Gates made 15 saves to record his third straight game with at least 10 stops. He recorded 14 of his 15 saves after the first quarter, including nine in the second half.
Michigan, holding an 11-10 lead, won the last face-off of the game. Hofstra forced a turnover in the waning moments, but a shot on cage was saved, preserving the win for the Wolverines.
After Michigan regained a 10-9 lead with 6:46 left in regulation, sophomore
Griffin Turner scored off an assist from Jones with 4:02 left in the game. Senior Jacob Jackson, who had a game-high four goals, tallied the game-winner with 51 seconds left.
Neither team held a lead of more than one goal in the second half. Hofstra's final lead of the game came when Rudd scored his second of the game to make it 9-8 with 2:05 left in the third quarter. The Pride held the Wolverines scoreless for more than 25 minutes of game action.
Despite scoring three of the game's four goals, Hofstra trailed for the majority of the first half. The Pride erased a two-goal deficit with unassisted goals from Rudd and Sykes midway through the second quarter.
Sykes and Jones scored both of their goals in the first half. The duo scored or assisted on the team's first three goals.

Daniel Ochs posted a team-high four ground balls.
