Looking For Nine; Pride Seeks Ninth Consecutive Win On Thursday

| By:
Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra men's basketball team will look to win its ninth consecutive game on Thursday when it hosts Hampton.

The game will serve as Hofstra's Multicultural Night/Black History Celebration/Equity & Inclusion Game.

The tip against the Colonial Athletic Association newcomer is scheduled for 7 p.m. from the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex.

Tickets are available by visiting HofstraTickets.com, calling (516) HOF-TIXX, or by stopping by the Hofstra Athletics Ticket Office in the lobby of the Mack Sports Complex during normal business hours.

The game will air on FloHoops and WRHU (88.7 FM) will have an audio-only broadcast available. Links to both can be found here and on the men's basketball schedule page at GoHofstra.com.

The game will be the fifth in the series for The Players Trunk playing cards with Thursday's card featuring a team photo.

Hofstra continued its winning ways on Monday with a 66-52 victory over Drexel. The victory moved the Pride to 20-8 overall and 13-2 in Colonial Athletic Association play. The 20 wins mark the 25th time in program history that Hofstra has won 20 or more games in a season and the 16th occurrence at the NCAA Division I level. It is also the second consecutive season under Head Coach Speedy Claxton that the Pride has achieved that feat.

Hampton is 6-21 overall and 3-11 in conference action. The Pirates have lost four straight, including a narrow 70-68 road defeat at Elon on Monday.

The game is just the second-ever between Hofstra and Hampton in the sport of men's basketball as the teams kicked-off the series back on January 5 with a 67-51 Pride victory. Aaron Estrada led Hofstra with 20 points and also added seven rebounds and five assists in that contest. Hofstra and Hampton are two of the four "HUs" at the NCAA Division I level (Harvard and Howard).
