Hofstra Posts 4-3 Win Over Quinnipiac

Box Score Oceanside, NY - Vincent Turina's straight set win at No. 6 singles clinched a 4-3 victory for Hofstra over Quinnipiac Saturday night at Point Set Indoor.

The Pride moved to 3-2 on the season with their second consecutive victory. The Bobcats slipped to 2-5 with the loss.

Quinnipiac led 1-0 after claiming the doubles point by winning two of the three flights. The Hofstra team of Matthew Garcia and Josh Reynolds did post a 6-3 win at the No. 2 flight.

Gacia would even the match with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Donovan Brown at No. 4 singles. Ostap Kovalenko followed with a 6-3, 7-5 win over Andreas Whalen-Merediz at No. 2. A Bobcats win at No. 1 singles tied the score at 2 before Reynolds won in three sets (7-6, 4-6, 6-4) over Shaurya Sood at No. 3 singles to put the Pride back on top. Turina then clinched the win with a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Csanad Nyaradi at the sixth flight. Quinnipiac would close out the match with a win at No. 5 to account for the 4-3 final.

Hofstra will return to action Sunday night at 8:30 p.m. against LIU. The match will be held at Sportime Syosset.
