Hempstead, NY - For the 11th-time in program history, the Hofstra University men's soccer team will play in the Coastal Athletic Association championship game when it hosts Monmouth Saturday night at 7 p.m. at Hofstra Soccer Stadium. The Pride, which is 5-2-3 in CAA championship games, will be looking for their third consecutive CAA title and the seventh in program history.

Hofstra, the top seed in the tournament, enters the championship game ranked 17th in the country by the United Soccer Coaches. The Pride own a record of 12-3-4 and have won three consecutive games. Hofstra defeated fourth-seeded Delaware, 4-1 in the semifinals last Sunday behind two goals from Ryan Carmichael and a strong defensive effort that held the Blue Hens without a shot on goal until a late second half penalty kick.

Monmouth enters its first CAA championship game with a record of 8-3-6. The second-seeded Hawks advanced to the final on penalty kicks (4-2) after playing a scoreless draw against Elon in the semifinals.

Hofstra and Monmouth met at Hofstra Soccer Stadium on October 7 with the Pride pulling out a 1-0 victory on Eliot Goldthorp's goal in the 86th minute. Overall, Hofstra holds a 6-0-1 advantage in the all-time series against the Hawks.

Saturday's game will be streamed live on FloFC with Dan Savarino and Siddique Farooqi on the call. WRHU will air an online audio stream, while live statistics will also be available. Links for all can be found on the men's soccer schedule page of GoHofstra.com.

Hofstra will learn its NCAA Championship fortunes Monday when the selection show airs on NCAA.com at 1 p.m.
