Hofstra Edged By No. 19 New Hampshire

Durham, NH - Nico Oberrauch staked Hofstra to a 1-0 lead in the first half, but No. 19 New Hampshire scored a pair of second half goals to post a 2-1 victory over the Pride Tuesday night at Wildcat Stadium. 

Hofstra fell to 9-3-4 on the season after taking its second consecutive loss. The Wildcats improved to 8-1-4 with their second straight win. 

Oberrauch scored his first Hofstra goal at the 20:34 mark, redirecting a shot from Eliot Goldthorp with a diving header at the right post. The play started with a corner kick from Goldthorp that was punched out by UNH keeper Joseba Incera. The ball came back to Goldthorp on the left wing and he moved towards the center of the field before firing a shot from distance that Oberrauch headed in.to the lower corner.

Eli Goldman evened the score at 50:01 when he put in a rebound of a Dominik Kurija shot. Kurija then netted the game-winner at 62:45 with Atila Ashrafi and Bilal Kamal. Incera made three of his four saves in the second half. 

Hofstra keeper Wessel Speel had a season-high seven saves. 

The Pride returns to action Saturday night at home in their final regular season game at Hofstra Soccer Stadium versus Drexel. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. with the Pride's 13 seniors recognized prior to the game.

Notes:
-Hofstra is 6-4-1 all-time versus New Hampshire.
-The Pride was outshot, 22-10.
-Goldthorp's assist was his team-leading ninth of the season.
