Taishi Shigaki shot an opening round 79 (+7) and is tied for 23rd place in the 54-player field at the SHU Fall Classic, hosted by Sacred Heart at the Great River Golf Club. As a team, the Pride is 10th in the 10-team field at 320 (+32).
Jaxon Hummel and
Vincent Apostolico are both tied for 29th at 80 (+8), while
Eugene Kang is tied for 35th after shooting a first round 81 (+9).
Joseph Giamanco comes in tied for 47th after a first round 87 (+15).
Marcus Lim and Mike Rothberg from Sacred Heart are tied for the lead at 71 (-1). SHU is the team leader at 291 (+3), just eight strokes behind them is Rhode Island at 299 (+11).
The second round of the SHU Fall Classic gets underway Monday morning.
