It also marked the second consecutive year Hofstra has beaten an Associated Press-ranked opponent as they defeated #24 Arkansas, 89-81, on December 18, 2021. The other ranked win was a 67-66 win over #18 Southern Illinois on December 11, 1976.

Hofstra is 46-30 all-time against Towson. The 76 all-time meetings between the Pride and the Tigers ranks as Hofstra's third-most played opponent of all-time (Delaware - 101 and Drexel - 96).
