Boston, MA – In the first indoor track meet of 2023, Hofstra women's track distance runner
Jordyn McDonnell set a new Hofstra record in the 3000m at the BU John Thomas Terrier Classic.
A senior from Lake Ronkonkoma, New York, McDonnell crossed the finish line in a time of 9:41.13, blowing past the previous school record of 10:02.84 set by Angelina Peck in 2016. McDonnell, who placed 37
th in the race, now owns the Hofstra school records in the 3000m, 5000m, and Mile.
Sophia Masciarelli also ran for the Pride in today's meet, and she set a new personal-best in the 5000m with a time of 17:48.76 for a 28
th-place finish.
The Pride returns to action on February 3 at the METS Indoor Championships.
