Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra men's basketball team will begin a huge two-game southern Colonial Athletic Association road trip on Thursday when the Pride faces Elon.
Tip-off from the Schar Center is slated for 7 p.m.
The game will air on FloHoops and WRHU (88.7 FM) will have an audio-only broadcast available. Links to both broadcasts, as well as the live statistics, can be found on this page and on the men's basketball schedule page at GoHofstra.com.
Hofstra improved to 13-8 overall and 6-2 in CAA action with a commanding 70-46 win over UNCW back on January 19. The game was knotted at 30 at the half before the Pride outscored the Seahawks, 40-16, in the second half. It was the fewest points Hofstra has allowed in a half since George Mason could only muster 16 in the second half in the Pride's 58-49 CAA semifinal win back on March 5, 2006.
Tyler Thomas led the way in the game with 28 points and seven assists, both season-highs for Thomas.
Elon is 2-18 and 0-7 in conference play. The Phoenix dropped a 66-62 home decision to Towson this past Saturday.
Hofstra is 11-5 all-time against Elon and split the regular season series with the Phoenix a year ago. The Pride has won six of the last eight games in the series. The first-ever meeting between the teams occurred during the 2009-10 campaign with Hofstra earning a 70-46 win in the NIT Season Tip-Off as the squads met prior to becoming conference rivals.
