Hofstra Extends Win Streak With 1-0 Win At Binghamton

Vestal, NY - Ryan Carmichael scored a second-half goal and Wessel Speel made three saves as Hofstra extended its winning streak to four with a 1-0 victory over Binghamton Tuesday night at the Bearcats Sports Complex. The Pride improved to 5-2-0 overall with the win. Binghamton slipped to 0-5-2 with the loss. 

Following a scoreless first half, the Pride was able to break through at the 54:08 mark when Carmichael scored with assists from Nico Oberrauch and Eliot Goldthorp. Carmichael made a diving effort at the goal line to send in Goldthorp's crossing pass. 

Speel made two of his three saves in the second half while nursing the one-goal lead. The junior keeper was also helped out by his defense when Oberrauch and Francesco Perinelli each came up with big stops on the same possession after Speel left his line to punch out a cross. 

Hofstra will return to action Saturday night at William & Mary with kick-off scheduled for 7 p.m.

Notes: 
-Hofstra moved to 4-1-1 all-time against Binghamton.
-The Pride improved to 5-1 this season in one goal games.
-Carmichael moved into a 10th-place tie in career goals with 23.
-Carmichael has scored a goal in three consecutive games and has points in his last five. 
-Goldthorp has assists in three straight games. 
-Speel has two shutouts this season. 
-Binghamton keeper Mats Roorda hd four saves including a penalty kick stop in the first half.
