Williamsburg, VA - Hofstra and William & Mary played to a scoreless draw Saturday night at Martin Family Stadium at Albert-Daly Field. The draw was Hofstra's first of the season.
Hofstra moves to 5-2-1 overall and 2-1-1 in the Colonial Athletic Association with the draw. William & Mary is 2-2-4 overall and 2-1-1 in league action.
Wessel Speel had three saves in goal for the Pride, including one on a breakaway late in the second half that preserved the scoreless game. Hofstra, which had nine shots, did not have any shots on goal, as Danilo Nikcevic was not called upon to make a save in the contest.
Hofstra's usually high-pressure offense was kept in check by the Tribe with the Pride drawing just one corner kick on the night. Hofstra averaged nearly six per game entering the night.
Hofstra will be back in action Saturday, October 1 at 5 p.m. when it hosts Delaware in a CAA matchup.
