Hofstra Takes Seven Of Top Eight Spots In Win Over Saint Peter's

Hempstead, NY - Hofstra had the top five finishers, led by Jordyn McDonnell, and placed all seven of its runners in the top eight as the Pride defeated Saint Peter's, 15-48, in a dual meet contested on Hofstra's campus Friday afternoon.

McDonnell finished the 5K in a time of 18:31.0 to finish just ahead of teammate Sophia Masciarelli, who placed second in 18:32.60. Allison Reid ran the course in 19:15.70 to place third. Jackalynn Orellana was fourth at 19:54.00 with Leslie Villafuerte Castro fifth at 19:56.10 to close out the Hofstra scoring finishers.

The Pride's Samantha Szabo finished seventh overall at 20:41.30, while Julia Mansfield was eighth at 21:50.90. All of Hofstra's times were season-bests following the Pride's season-opening 5K at the LIU Fall Festival last week.

Shelby Piccinic was the top finisher for Saint Peter's, placing sixth overall at 20:18.90. Kaylah Davis was ninth in 24:04.20 followed by Diamond McLaughlin in 10th at 24:13.30. Anya Jennings (11th, 25:05.70) and Karilyn Jimenez (12th, 25:31.40) rounded out the Saint Peter's scoring, Karynn Hill (13th, 27:27.80), Alexus Smith (14th, 29:36.10) and Nalanie Clement (15th, 32:14.10) were the Peacocks' other finishers.

The Pride returns to action September 30 at the Lehigh Paul Short Invitational in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
